Spread the love

We have scoured the internet and found some Asian cooking gems. These books will not leave you disappointed! Impress your friends with these cooking ideas.

Korean American

Let’s start things off with an all-time favorite Asian cookbook, Korean American, famously by Eric Kim.  Not only is it a New York Times Best Seller but one of the most anticipated cookbooks in 2022.  It pays homage to what it really means to be a Korean American by exploring the culinary traditions of past and present Korean food.  The recipes I’ve tried so far (shrimp and grits, ribeye steak, and maple spam) have been big on flavor and low in effort.  Needless to say, I have been anxiously awaiting what the rest of this book has in store for me.

Vegan Asian: A Cookbook

For those of you who crave vegan-friendly versions of the classic Asian dishes then this will absolutely become your favorite new book.  Author Jeeca Uy from @TheFoodieTakesFlight takes you down the traditional path of Southeastern and East Asian cuisine.  Some of the iconic dishes include Pad Thai, Char Siu Tofu, Chinese Lettuce Wraps, and Spicy Dan Dan Noodles just to name a few.  No more takeout will be needed once you discover the recipes in Vegan Asian!

101 Thai Dishes You Need to Cook Before You Die

Culinary masterminds Jet Tila and Tad Weyland Fukumoto team up to present this incredible culinary masterpiece.  With dishes ranging from Asian classics to tantalizing street foods spanning several regions.  You will find mouthwatering dishes such as BBQ Chicken, Fried Tilapia, and Glass Noodle Stir-Fry.  Beautifully laid out and organized with gorgeous pictures. Chef Tila has such an approachable tone and teaching method – his explanations help make seemingly impossible tasks simple. I can’t wait to cook so many recipes from 101 Thai Dishes You Need to Cook Before You Die.

Dumplings All Day Wong

Dumplings… Dumplings… Dumplings!  Wow if you ever wanted to know everything about Asian-style dumplings then this is the cookbook for you.  It has some amazing recipes and I found the instructions to be easy to follow for the average weekend chef.  The book covers a number of different types of dumplings and allows you to be creative in your ingredients.  Pick up a copy of Dumplings All Day Wong today!

Asian Tofu

Although not a newly published cookbook this one lasts for the ages.  Asian Tofu exposes over 100 recipes that explore authentic flavors of East, Southeast, and South Asia.  Andrea Nguyen is an expert in soy product and the quality of her instructions are unmatched by anything you can buy in the store. I have enjoyed reading the stories, and incorporating some of her tofu-making techniques, and will eventually try some of the more innovative dishes.
